Hair: Aria has long, sleek dark brown hair (black in the books). Consider changing your shampoo & conditioner. Grow out your hair, and get trims every once in a while to get rid of split ends. Use hydrating, curl-holding products after showering, whatever works best for your hair (John Frieda has good products). Aria also has long, side-swept bangs-you can keep the shape of these by combing them into position while they're wet, putting a round brush under them, and blow drying, before gently misting on hairspray. Aria normally has loosely curled hair so to achieve that hair style curl your hair with a large barrel curling iron.
Makeup: For makeup put on a dramatic black liquid liner (Elf's Felt Pen is cheap and effective) just along the top of your lash line, to make them pop and make your eyes look big like Aria's. Use white eyeliner on your waterline, to make them look doe-like. Add a smokey eye, or depending on your color, green for brown eyes, brown for green or blue eyes, purple for dark eyes, or a natural nude color (not too much). Then, put on peach or light pink blush, a little bronzer under your natural cheekbones, temples and on both sides of your nose. Use a pink lip color. Her eyebrows are very defined. Try shaping yours along your natural arch by plucking, waxing, or threading.
Clothes: Aria is a very unique person who likes to stand out with her clothes. Her style is mainly bohemian but has an indie-hipster-girl twist. Research that style, and get some basic bohemian clothes: patterned black tights, skinny jeans, flowy tops, knee-high lace-up boots, memorable dresses, knee high suede boots, fingerless gloves, brightly colored flats, knitted hats, big bags and a signature leather jacket (Aria's is a gray bomber, which can go with almost anything). Try out second-hand/thrift stores for unique vintage pieces. Be bold! One thing Aria is known for is the confidence behind her clothes!
Body: Aria is in shape. If you aren't quite as in shape as Aria, it's okay. Part of her personality is being different and everybody is. But you can eat healthy and exercise like Aria, who likes to do yoga.
Attitude: Aria's attitude is sweet, funny, and unique. She is emotional but strong. She is also mysterious but also has a friendly openness to her that makes people want to get to know her better. She is quite secretive. Try to incorporate these things into your own attitude.
Travel: Aria's exotic style comes from the variety of the cultures she's experienced. She always has postcards of where she's been. Aria loved going to Paris and Greece, and living in Iceland. She also wants to go to Brazil someday. Try to travel as much as possible and always pick up souvenirs on the way: jewelry, t-shirts, and key chains which can show others how great your vacation was. With a charm bracelet, you can show off the places you visited. Pile some more bracelets on top of it, and you can also still keep up with Aria's style.
Nails: Aria's nails are mostly darkly colored. Black is okay but don't use that too much.Try to use different colors like dark gray, deep plum, rich burgundy and a nice deep blue. Always keep your nails clean and trim.
Read and Write. Aria's room is full of books. Read as much as you can, like Aria. She is also seen writing a lot in the television series.--
Spencer:
Get her look: Spencer is known to be very beautiful, with long, brown hair (in the show) or dirty blonde hair (in the books), creamy fair skin, a mega watt smile, green eyes, and a perfectly curved peachy pink lips.
Clothes. As you can tell, Spencer is a perfectionist. From pictures, you can tell that she is what we call 'preppy'. She does not dress in Hollister, Aeropostale, or Target. She dresses in classic, preppy stores like Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Lacoste, and Lilly Pulitzer, and wears other high-class brands that go either unspecified or nondescript. Try to take time to dress and to look effortless and put together. For a bag, she would probably carry a Longchamp tote. She wears trendy clothes but with a classic twist - try a cute gray mini, rose ballet flats with gray knee highs, a white blouse, and a pink cardigan. Dress everyday like you're going to a country club or even meeting the Headmaster at a prestigious private school. If a lot of girls don't wear high fashion things (or you cannot afford it or you don't like the style) you can shop at Abercrombie, HCO, and American Eagle, but try getting understated pieces like plain, brightly colored, fitting sweaters with tanks to go underneath. Definitely no hoodies or t-shirts with brand names plastered on the front - Spencer is much classier than that. Try to dress in a more mature manner. If you can't afford some of the higher class stores, shop around and buy preppy sweaters, flats, accessories, etc. from more obscure stores. Check your mom's closet too, even "borrow" her pearls. Just look as preppy and neat as possible.
Attitude! Because of her undying wit, academic intelligence, and seemingly perfect persona, it's almost a surprise that this Pretty Little Liar is sneaky, greedy, and hell bent on beating everyone else out. She uses her smarts, common sense, and wit to do her best, and that's why she always seems so perfect. If you're a pessimistic person, try to lighten up a little- even when getting hateful texts from the lovable "A", Spencer doesn't let it get her personality or her grades down. Be friendly to everyone, but use your good reputation and skills to maneuver your way to what you want. DON'T double cross anyone, or unnecissarily involve anyone, or it will backfire on you
Work hard! Straight A's don't come naturally to anyone. You're going to have to work hard - hand in all your homework on time, do any possible extra credit, and study very hard for tests. Volunteer and do internships - they both look good on college applications.
In school Spencer is a straight A student and a favorite. She got perfect scores on the SATs. Become an A student. Spencer's done many bad things but it never ruins her good girl reputation. If you're going to spread rumors, please, think of consequences, and how this will change peoples perception of you, even if it is a small rumor. Also, what you do in after school stays after school. If you just hooked up with some guy, don't let it spread around school; keep it to yourself. Things like this can get twisted up and people can pass it on from a simple kiss to the full monty, and ultimately, you'll get a negative stigma and that does not go hand-in-hand with being perfect.
Get Neat and Organized! Spencer is very organized and she plans her day out in her Sidekick. For one, get a smartphone, or a cell phone and a planner, and try to plan your day out in as much detail as possible. Write neatly and legibly. Also, have a clean room.Spencer takes neat to a whole new level. Being neat also applies to your clothes, hair, schoolwork, locker, etc.
Staying Active Spencer is quite an athletic person and likes to work out. Try a bunch of different extracurricular activities. Spencer plays field hockey and tennis to keep in shape and also because she's good at it! If your school doesn't have field hockey or tennis team, try lacrosse, horse back riding, or netball. Spencer also goes for a run a few times a week to keep fit and it helps her think things over.
Social Life. Spencer is part of the most popular clique in school. Her clique is made up of different girls but each have their own unique friendships with one another. I'm not here to say you have to be popular, because it's unnecessary, but it does add to the 'Spencer' persona. Also, Spencer attracts a lot of hot guys and is flirty, but she never does anything that may haunt her later. Do not become "easy", and mess up your reputation.
Spencer is a perfect student compared to most. But at home...Things are messy. If you want to be like Spencer you do not have to make your home messy. Try to get amazing grades, join clubs
EMILY:
Personality Traits: Emily is a very sweet and loyal person over all. She is nice to everyone, however recently she has developed a bit of back bone. Emily is now very friendly to everyone except those people that have done wrong to her or her loved ones.
Fitness: Emily is a competitive free style swimmer. To be like Emily find a sport that you love and are passionate about! Find a hobby or a sport you love and get to the top of your game. Emily's swimming also helps her to keep fit and healthy. Try finding an active hobby you love in order to help you stay fit and look great!
Make Family A Priority: Family is very important to Emily. She is definitely a 'daddy's girl,' even though he is away from home a lot. Make time for your family. If you live away from home or don't often sit down with your family for a meal, make sure you do at least once a week. Family and friends are everything to Emily.
Stand up for Yourself|Be Yourself: Through the book series and the television series Emily struggles with telling her friends, family, and "herself" that she is a lesbian. When she does eventually admit it to herself and to other people, she feels a lot better. She feels free. The moral is, you should be yourself and let people see the real you. Don't try and hide who you really are.
Makeup: For makeup, Emily always goes for a natural look as if she wasn't even wearing any. However, we all know that she is because she looks absolutely flawless in every episode. I would just suggest going for very neutral and natural shades of makeup. However, my number one tip is to just do what works for you. Everyone is different and what looks great on Emily (Shay Mitchell) may not look great on you. Always look YOUR best.
Hair: Emily's hair always looks clean, healthy and natural. Use curlers if you want to add a little more body and life to your hair, but don't over-do it. Use larger sections of your hair in order to create bigger, fuller and more natural looking curls. Lately, Emily has been curling her hair from about halfway down with a straight, sleek, and silky top. Finish off with a little spritz of hairspray.
Emily's Style: Emily has had a major style evolution from innocent to edgy. I am absolutely in love with her transformation and hope her style continues to get even more edgy. Emily has kept a couple aspects of her wardrobe the same though. Comfort is key. The thing is, she has been looking more fashionable lately while still being comfy. Look for cute cutouts, soft fabrics, layers, etc. Emily has been adding cute patters to the pants she wears as well, whether they are metallic leggings or aztec printed jeans. Another thing about Emily is her new favourite colour: black! Now I'm not saying you need to wear all black but definitely include it somewhere. An example could be when she wore a black tank with bright blue jeans. Add some colour to brighten up your outfit! For accessories; Emily loves bigger bags, think a hobo or cross body bag. Also, add mostly delicate accessories however some bigger, edgy, rings would be acceptable.
Nails: As for nails, Emily usually sticks to softer colours (not including dark shades.)Maybe just don't do crazy nail art or extra bright shades of polish!
Emily's Room. In the television series, Emily's room is always clean and tidy. She has a large desk in her room which holds souvenirs and keep-sakes from friends, including the snow-globe Alison gave her. Her bedroom is painted with light colors, yellows and whites. If you have spare money and time, you could try to imitate her bedroom. There are stills from the show on the official Pretty Little Liars website.
HANNA:
Get Hanna's hair and makeup. Hanna always has perfect hair and makeup. For your hair, if you are blonde, you are good to go! If not, you could get highlights, or dye it completely! Getting Hanna's hair really isn't about the colour though, what's important is that it looks perfect and good for your skin tone and face shape! Hanna's hair is always styled in curls. Alternate the way you curl them around your curling iron for a messier "Hanna" look. When you get to the front of your hair though, curl the hair away from your face. For makeup, Hanna's eyes are always rimmed in black eyeliner, and she always sports some pink shade for the lips. In season 3 she has been having more natural eyes and then smoking it out at the lash line.
Get Hanna's style. Her style is trickier to pinpoint because her ensembles are eclectic. She borrows elements of everyone’s wardrobe to create looks that are strikingly chic with a touch of trend, femininity and glamor. Hanna looks like she’s heading to a hip soiree everyday rather than just trekking to class. Her look is very young Hollywood: It’s flirty and girly with a trendy edge. To get Hanna's style you don't necessarily have to shop at expensive stores, but you do have to be unique! Be original. Hanna is a trend- setter, however she does like to try out different trends that are already popular. She definitely studies up her favourite subject (fashion) daily!
Learn your brands! Just because you don't have to dress in expensive clothing doesn't mean you shouldn't know all the brands by heart! Spend some time looking at websites online for Tory Burch, Splendid, etc. If you comment on fancy brands, people will think you have them.
Carry What You Need In Your Purse. Hanna LOVES her cell phone, so always carry it with you! Also, keep a lipstick (light pink), lip gloss, a flashlight (for your dead body hunting in the middle of the woods) and a nail file.
Be up-to-date with the world. Hanna was especially savvy in fashion. Know what is going on, be up to date on trends, at least know about political events, music, and things of the sort. This doesn't mean you have to be a girl who only shops at exclusive stores. You can find cute things anywhere if you look.
Get Hanna's personality. Hanna is hot, and she knows it! Her confidence makes her sparkle. Without it, she wouldn't be Hanna! She can be very sarcastic and is always up for a good time. ALWAYS be confident and independent, and let people know your rules. Fun-loving and a little wild, she is all kinds of feisty and tough. Being popular is important to her, but being a true friend to her girls matters more to her than anything.
Be independent. Hanna has never been one to conform to something that she does not believe in. Being independent does not mean being sassy and rude to authority though. Follow your heart and what you believe in. And follow your instincts, you never know when they may come in handy.
Be self motivated. Don't wait for others to initiate anything. Do it yourself and get things going when no one else will. Being self motivated helps in academics, sports, social situations and many more, so don't be afraid.
Have some class. Hanna may not be the sweetest apple in the orchard, but she is not the tartest either. Be tactful and have standards, they will get you further than you may think. Also, let things roll off of your back. People will always be mean, no matter how nice you are. So don't think about it.
Be confident. Hanna was built on confidence. No matter you hair, or anything else, being confident draws people to you. Don't be cocky. There are lines not to be crossed. Being confident gives off a glow, a glow that just screams "Hanna".
ALISON:
Hair; Alison has long, blonde, likable hair. She brushes it and wears it wavy, sometimes clipped away from her heart-shaped face with small hairpins or glittery clips. Buy a good box dye from a hair-place if you want to, but I personally would spend the extra money getting it done professionally, because it always turns out better--don't argue, it does. After your hair is blonde, wait an hour longer then needed before you wash it again. It will make it more natural. If you hair is super-frizzy, consider having it straightened. Yet again, getting really frizzy hair straightened is best done chemically in a hair salon. Flat irons will make it...flat. If you use a flat iron, when you move your head, your hair will not move, and it will crease. When your hair is like hers, wash it every other day, with good shampoo, like Suave, or Pantene, or L'oreal. Stuff from dollar stores will make your hair greasy, and will not clean very well. It's okay maybe once a week, but cheap-o stuff isn't too great for you hair everyday. Also, use good conditioner, too, but use it on the ends more than the scalp. If you want, you can wear loose braids to bed, and your hair will be wavy in the morning. When you wake up, take the braids out, blow-dry your hair, use a thin curling iron for touch-ups here and there. Get a strand of hair from the upper-right side of you hair, the part by your face. Not a handful, but where bangs might be. (Don't get bangs). Twist it to the bottom, or braid it halfway. Get the braid or the twist, and clip or pin it to the side of your head. Repeat on the other side. When you completed this, get some good-smelling spray gel, and spray it lightly over the outside of all your hair. Then get some good-quality spray, and spray it on the little twist-or-braid things, including the clips.
Makeup; You have to have skin like Alison's to pull off this look. Wake up, take a shower, whatever. Then wash your face with a good medicated wash. Use acne medicine even if you don't have acne. You will thank me. After you hair is pulled away from your face, and your face is dry, Get a concealer-powder that matcher your skin tone (Not and oil-based concealer!) and LIGHTLY powder it on over your whole face. Then lightly apply golden bronzer over your cheekbones. After the concealer and bronzer is good, apply pinkish blush over the apple of your cheek, and lower cheek. You can also give yourself a hairline, as this makes you look sun kissed. After your 'face' makeup is done, apply eyeliner. But don't always use black! That will make you look dark and boring. Alison has gorgeous blue eyes. She uses gorgeous blue eyeliner on the top lid only. If you have brown eyes, use dark brown eyeliner. If you have green eyes, though, use purplish eyeliner, top lid only. With colors like green and blue, use top lid only. If you have hazel eyes, than it is okay to use black more often, though. You can buy blue color-contacts if you want. Use this method with eyeshadow too. Blue-blue, Green-purple or green, brown-bronze or gold or brown hazel- dark brown, black, or gold.
Clothes; Alison wears simple, cute basic clothes with cute scarves and jewelry. You can buy Ali clothes anywhere. Try shopping at many different places, but get jewelry, purses and accessories at more expensive places. Here's an example outfit; You could buy a cute denim skirt at a thrift store that is white,a yellow baggy shirt at maybe tall boots, a gray sweater at Wet Seal, a brassy, chunky necklace at Urban Outfitters, and gray or white sandals at a really cheap store. You don't have to buy super-expensive shoes or anything. You could buy gray or silver sandals at Women's Footwear.
Humor and Personality; Ali has a dark sense of humor along with her bubbly, outgoing personality. So make dryer jokes, be a little more sarcastic, but not all-out rude. Joke around more with your friends. And have a ton of good comebacks if you argue with someone. Carry a bag that matches most outfits around (White, gray, pinkish). have maybe a pink notebook to keep sketches, diary entries, and good comebacks in, a capped pen, a compact, lip gloss, mascara, a tampon, a comb, a wallet with a spare $20 or $10, your phone if you have one, your iPod, iTouch or iShuffle, a camera, a bracelet, a mini perfume, a couple extra hairpins, clips, and bands, a watch, a granola bar, and a bottled soda or water. Keep everything in it organized as well.
Scent; Alison's signature scent is vanilla. Have vanilla, or a flowery scent, something that will make you smell fresh and pretty.
